I help companies to establish their editorial and storytelling groove. You might call it thought leadership, content, brand journalism, insights, or something else. What I see is stories waiting to be told (untapped potential); told better (lost in translation); in need of TLC (so they become infectiously internally); or shared more widely (hidden gems).

I don't just write. I also think, plan, challenge, provoke, and bash stuff around (always constructively). This is what you'd call the foundations of successful thought leadership, editorial content, and publishing. And it's too often overlooked, as the excitement of execution takes over.

Whether you're trying to influence clients, investors, colleagues, or partners — people typically look to, and the tone gets set from, the top. But there's nothing worse than a video that looks like it was filmed at gunpoint; a blog clearly written by a third party or sanitised by a committee of corporate handlers; or an isolated executive struggling to make an impact without the right support.

I spent more than a decade on the client-side, so I'd like to think I offer the kind of consulting and advisory support that I wished I could procure in that past life. Clear expertise, well-articulated; someone who'll operate as one of the team without losing perspective; a willingness to say no, to challenge, and to push back; and someone who aims to leave behind an impact, not just a bill.

I've been privileged to have words published in special reports in The Times and The Sunday Times for more than a decade, and more recently created a series on corporate innovation for Sifted, the FT-backed media outlet for the European start-up and VC community.
